  • About THE ARTIST

    Sally Stryker

Thank you for your interest in my artwork. I feel so fortunate to be able to create treasured heirlooms for my clients! Pets are such loving and loyal companions. Unfortunately, they don't last as long as we do! Having a painting of them is a lovely way to keep their love in our lives and in our hearts forever. It's nice to think that my artwork will keep a beloved pet as a part of the family for generations. One client even told me that if there were a fire in his house, my painting would be the only thing he would grab before running out!

Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, I've always had the ability to draw and paint. In school, I was constantly drawing animals, faces and figures on my desk and was the kid that was chosen to do the bulletin boards. As a youngster, we had cats and somehow they always ended up in my bed at night! My love for dogs came later when I was dog sitting for a friend's shih tsu - awww she just melted my heart. When I was little, I was obsessed with horses and used to skip around the playground pretending I was a Palomino pony! Now every year for my birthday, I have a riding lesson, just so I can drink in their gentle nature and marvelous aroma. This photo is from this year with sweet Lucy at the Stony Hills stables in the Hamptons. Living on the end of Long Island in New York, is an ideal area for an artist studio, where I work for most of the year. I spend the winter months abroad, finishing painting commissions and studying yoga in India and St Barts.

To help animals in need, I donate a percentage of the proceeds of my work to my favorite animal charities: Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF), Amaryllis Equine Rescue Farm and I Love Bali Dogs.
